Description

Job Description

We're looking for a talented infrastructure engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges at scale.

This is your opportunity to shape the future of our technology landscape while growing your career alongside some of the best minds in the industry.

At JPMorgan Chase, your expertise will directly influence how we scale our technology to meet evolving business demands.

You'll drive technical strategy, mentor fellow engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, secure, and performant systems.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Network Services team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing the infrastructure platforms that support our global operations.

You will drive technical strategy, mentor fellow engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available, secure, and performant systems.

Your expertise will directly influence how we scale our technology to meet evolving business demands.

The Network Connectivity Solution Engineer will be responsible for leading the requirements capture, tendering and design of network connectivity solutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This role partners with internal business stakeholders, service delivery teams and external telecom providers to ensure high-quality, timely, and cost-effective network solutions that meet business requirements and engineering standards.

  • Job responsibilities
  • Lead structured requirements capture with business and technology stakeholders; translate connectivity needs, constraints, and non-functional requirements (resilience, performance, compliance, operability) into well-defined solution requirements.
  • Develop end-to-end connectivity designs aligned to approved architectural patterns and reference architectures, producing high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, implementation constraints, and documented assumptions.
  • Own the full tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity solutions, including bid documentation, coordination of request-for-information/request-for-proposal activities with internal sourcing partners, technical and commercial evaluation, and formal documentation of vendor selection rationale.
  • Embed resilience and operational risk controls into all designs, including path and carrier diversity, elimination of single points of failure, serviceability and monitoring requirements, and clearly defined demarcation and escalation models.
  • Lead design reviews and architecture governance; manage design exceptions with documented risk acceptance and ensure decisions adhere to established engineering standards and controls.
  • Design and implement scalable, resilient infrastructure architectures that support business-critical applications and services.
  • Collaborate with telecom service providers, vendors, and internal engineering teams across the bid and design lifecycle to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and deliverable within defined constraints.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance governance, holding providers accountable to service level agreements, driving service improvement plans, and conducting recurring quality and performance reviews.
  • Support regional and global network strategy execution through process improvements and service optimization; serve as the telecom connectivity market expert for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (carrier landscape, emerging technologies, pricing trends, supplier capabilities), lead evaluation/adoption of new technologies, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and applied experience.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, and networking services.
  • Deep knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies (Layers 0-3), including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular and satellite connectivity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa telecom connectivity market, including in-depth knowledge of regional carrier ecosystems, infrastructure landscapes, and connectivity product offerings across key markets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across business and technical domains.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent project across geographies.
  • Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) for workflow, documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid architectures.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e. g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
  • Data analytical skills – ability to interrogate, model and visualize large datasets to identify trends, cost drivers, or delivery risks.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
