As an Associate or Vice President within the Primary Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) group, you will support and execute the syndication of primary CLO transactions, working closely with the CLO New Issue desk in J.P. Morgan's capacity as a placement agent. You will engage directly with CLO issuers, investors, and internal partners across structuring and sales to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive successful deal execution. Your role will give you broad exposure to the full lifecycle of CLO transactions, from initial structuring through to final placement, within a team that is widely recognised as a leader in the global CLO market.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies for primary CLO transactions, with a focus on AAA and equity marketing as well as mezzanine debt syndication.
- Leverage and expand relationships with anchor AAA and equity investors to support bond placement across new issue transactions.
- Manage the end-to-end syndication process alongside the desk head and deal captains, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
- Partner with Structuring teams to facilitate manager and investor document negotiations throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Engage with CLO issuers, structuring, and sales teams across all phases of each transaction to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Cultivate and develop new CLO investor relationships, expanding the franchise's reach across the global investor landscape.
- Design and implement tailored marketing strategies for new and emerging CLO managers entering the market.
- Coordinate and conduct deal and non-deal related roadshows, representing J.P. Morgan's CLO franchise to investors globally.
- Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of global CLO investor dynamics, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Proven experience in CLOs, structured finance, or asset-backed securities within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of the leveraged loan market and broader credit markets, including key players, trends, and market dynamics.
- High proficiency in CLO market software and technology, including CDOEdge, Cashflow Evaluator, and Intex Dealmaker.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently to clients, investors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to assess deal structures and market conditions effectively.
- High attention to detail with the ability to perform accurately and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Established network of relationships with institutional CLO investors, including AAA and equity investors.
- Experience managing or supporting the syndication of primary CLO transactions at a leading financial institution.
- Familiarity with new and emerging CLO manager dynamics and the ability to develop bespoke marketing approaches.
- Experience coordinating investor roadshows and managing multi-stakeholder deal processes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
