Job Summary
As an Executive Director Quantitative Trader within the Rates team, you will combine deep market expertise with strong quantitative and technology capabilities to drive the development and execution of trading strategies across Global Rates. Sitting within the Trading business, you will partner closely with Quantitative Trading & Research (QTR), Technology and other trading teams to develop systematic approaches to pricing, execution, hedging and risk management.
You will play a key role in identifying trading opportunities, enhancing market-making capabilities and developing innovative tools and analytics that support franchise growth and improve trading performance. This is a Front Office role requiring both strong quantitative skills and practical experience managing risk in live markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative and systematic trading strategies to improve performance and enhance market-making capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing, execution, hedging and portfolio construction through data-driven analysis.
- Partner with QTR teams to develop and deploy quantitative models and trading algorithms.
- Analyze market structure, liquidity dynamics and trading data to identify areas for increased efficiency and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with Technology to develop strategic trading, risk management and analytics infrastructure.
- Monitor trading performance, risk exposures and market developments, adjusting strategies as appropriate.
- Generate and evaluate new trading ideas and contribute to the evolution of the broader Rates trading platform.
- Build strong partnerships with Sales, Technology, QTR and Control functions to support franchise objectives.
- Support the continued electronification and automation of Rates trading workflows and market-making processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or Finance.
- Extensive experience within Rates Trading, Quantitative Trading, Systematic Trading or a related Front Office function.
- Strong knowledge of global interest rate markets, including cash and derivative products.
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages.
- Experience working with quantitative models, trading analytics and risk management frameworks.
- Ability to bridge Trading, Quantitative Research and Technology functions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced trading environment.
Preferred Qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience developing or managing algorithmic, systematic or electronic trading strategies.
- Experience working closely with QTR or quantitative research organizations.
- Familiarity with market-making, execution optimisation, portfolio construction and automated risk management.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
