The role focuses on defining data products and their attributes, analysing and restructuring existing data products, and ensuring high standards of data quality and accessibility while collaborating with Sales users and technical and analytical teams.
As a Lead Data Architect on the Markets Sales CDAO team in London, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating closely with Quant Research and Technology on Sales data products design and strategy, delivering business value with data.
- Automating data quality monitoring and data lineage registration.
- Developing proof-of-concept data product prototypes.
- Translating data consumer requirements into actionable development tasks.
- Managing releases and tracking development timelines and milestones.
- Prioritising feature requests and driving resolution of data quality issues.
- Prioritising technology data tooling deliveries supporting Markets Sales.
- Helping data consumers to use data products effectively.
- Promoting reuse of data products.
- Ensuring integration of Markets Sales data with other data and analytics platforms in the firm.
- Integrating strategic data management tools into producer and consumer workflows.
- Developing high-quality production code and reviewing and debugging code written by others.
- Executing creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Leading data architecture communities of practice to drive awareness and use of modern data architecture technologies.
- Adding to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent Python programming skills.
- Solid programming skills in data query languages and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Experience with data/technology projects in the Financial Services sector.
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Ability to build and optimize data sets and 'big data' pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams within the firm.
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best data architecture solutions for the future state architecture.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills:
- Understanding of financial markets data and experience with financial data platforms.
- Prior experience with data products design.
- Prior experience with Sell-side analytics platforms (Athena, SecDB, etc.).
