Portfolio managers are responsible for investment outcomes by constructing and managing portfolios to provide investment returns in accordance with client goals.

This is a portfolio management role within the EMAP Equities team (Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific). The role is a co-portfolio manager on the India funds, working closely with the lead portfolio manager and product analysts to generate performance for clients. This role is based in London.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead manager with all aspects of managing the India funds.
  • Work closely with EMAP team analysts on stock ideas, following the established investment process.
  • Contribute on idea generation for portfolios.
  • Help to manage portfolios, taking into account stock ideas, sector tilts, risk considerations.
  • Client communication.

Core skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in investing in Indian equities, preferably on the buy side.
  • Strong grasp of fundamental/bottom-up investing, including a well-defined process and a first principles mindset.
  • Desire to contribute investment ideas while following a disciplined and consistent framework.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate well with other portfolio managers and analysts.
  • Good balance of intellectual curiosity, decision-making capability and ability to think clearly in a volatile market environment.
