As a Head of Digital Marketing Lawyer – International Consumer (UK & Germany) - Vice President you will grow and support a high-performing team, creating clear ways of working and developing capability so the business receives trusted, timely and commercially pragmatic advice. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders to advise on the regulatory requirements for marketing Chase (our digital bank) and JPMorgan Personal Investing, enabling compliant innovation and speed-to-market in a supportive and collaborative Legal environment. JPMorganChase's International Consumer business is scaling—expanding into new markets, launching new products and building a distinctive digital customer experience. We are seeking a Vice President/Assistant General Counsel to lead the marketing legal team at the heart of that growth, advising on high-impact campaigns and communications across digital, social and print channels.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and grow a high performing marketing legal team, providing advice on all aspects of marketing financial products for the International Consumer UK / EU businesses; reviewing financial promotions and all other marketing content; and advising on associated regulatory issues;
  • Act as a legal escalation point for complex/novel matters, balancing regulatory risk, customer outcomes, brand and speed-to-market.
  • Stay current on UK and EU regulatory developments impacting the marketing of retail financial products, with a particular focus on digital marketing.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with global stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Controls, Compliance, Risk and Legal subject matter experts (e.g., privacy/data, IP, sourcing).
  • Set team strategy, priorities and resourcing; develop team capability through coaching, performance management, hiring and succession planning.
  • Create and embed scalable ways of working (triage, SLAs, templates/playbooks and training) to support marketing growth and consistent decision‑making.
  • Review, interpret and negotiate third‑party agreements supporting marketing and communications, including agency and media arrangements, MarTech/SaaS, sponsorships, and influencer/“finfluencer” and talent agreements, managing end‑to‑end negotiations and internal coordination to achieve timely execution.
  • Advise the business on rights and obligations under marketing agreements, ensuring compliance with JPMorganChase policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear risk reporting and actionable insight on key issues and emerging trends to senior stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in connection with legal support to the business.

Required Qualifications, Skills And Capabilities

  • Qualified lawyer
  • Significant relevant in‑house experience advising on marketing/advertising for regulated consumer‑facing products or services
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK regulatory framework for marketing retail financial services (including financial promotions), with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
  • Sound understanding of data protection and privacy requirements relevant to marketing activities (including GDPR).
  • Experience advising across a broad mix of advertising and communications channels, including digital and social media, online journeys, influencer marketing, and traditional/print campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of UK equality and consumer protection considerations in marketing (including the Equality Act as applicable).
  • Strong commercial contracting experience, including negotiation of marketing‑related agreements (e.g., SaaS/MarTech, sponsorship, influencer/talent, agencies, media buying and other supplier/partner arrangements).
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and coach teams and to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in a global, matrixed organisation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance for legal and non‑legal audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast‑paced environment, prioritise effectively and deliver high‑quality outcomes under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills And Capabilities

  • Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or Germany is preferred
  • Financial services sector experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant EU marketing‑related regulatory requirements is desirable.
