As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Market Data Distribution Systems team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities:
- Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope.
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes.
- Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity.
- Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions.
- Provide production support for critical market data platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and availability.
- Implement production changes and deliver timely resolution to production issues, including clear root-cause ownership and follow-through.
- Develop tools and automation to improve production support processes, monitoring, and overall stability of the market data infrastructure.
- Communicate and interact efficiently with lines of business during issues or outages, providing clear status, impact, and recovery updates.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve problems and deliver project tasks and troubleshooting efforts.
- Liaise with plan/build teams to ensure a smooth transition from project delivery to business-as-usual support for new products and processes.
- Work with vendors to help drive technical strategy, improve service, and resolve recurring or systemic issues.
- Provide advice on and adhere to operational and technical standards, best practices, processes, and procedures.
- Work cross-functionally and across geographies to meet overall goals.
- Develop and manage key relationships across the firm and with industry/business community contacts to help shape direction and adopt best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments.
- Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product.
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of market data technologies (installation and support of) used by trading applications, including: LSEG RMDS and EEDs, DACS, Bloomberg BPIPE and MFA, Solace, Metafluent, ITRS Geneos.
- Deep knowledge of market data feeds and trading content (previous experience with direct exchange connectivity is an advantage).
- Data content and quality expertise—ability to validate if a price is correct; experienced in using tick history tools.
- Programming/scripting: Shell, Python, Perl, SQL, nice to have Javascript, C++.
- Networking: IP (TCP/UDP/MCAST) and familiarity with switch/routing topologies.
- Operating systems: Linux (RedHat) system administration.
- Cloud computing: AWS.
- Market data APIs: OpenMAMA, LSEG APIs, Bloomberg APIs.
