Job Summary

As a Software Engineer III in the Asset Management Global Regulatory Reporting Technology team, you will design, build, and support cloud-native applications on Mercury, our strategic regulatory reporting platform.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and innovative solutions that support regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.

You will help modernize our reporting ecosystem, improve operational efficiency, and drive the responsible adoption of AI and emerging technologies.

Your contributions will directly impact the accuracy, scalability, and control of our regulatory reporting processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and maintain scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native services on AWS to support regulatory reporting workflows.
  • Develop modern user experiences, dashboards, and exception management capabilities using React and Type Script.
  • Contribute to the software delivery lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate software delivery, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of intelligent automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency and control effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI and agentic technologies to support the evolution of the regulatory reporting platform.
  • Design, implement, and optimize controls that enhance data quality, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build resilient, observable, and secure systems that operate reliably within a highly regulated environment.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied development experience.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience building modern web applications using React, Type Script, or similar frontend frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software design, application architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with relational databases.
  • Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and agile development methodologies.
  • Experience using engineering productivity and AI-assisted development tools within the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, regulatory reporting, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting domains such as Mi FID, EMIR, SFTR, ASIC, MAS, or related frameworks.
  • Experience building large-scale data processing and data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, and streaming technologies.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and production support practices.
  • Experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools to improve development productivity and software quality.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence, large language models, intelligent automation, or agentic workflow concepts.
  • Experience applying automation and AI technologies to operational processes, investigation workflows, or decision-support capabilities.
  • Interest in shaping the future application of AI across enterprise-scale regulatory reporting and controls platforms.
