Great opportunity for a Vice President to join our growing Life Sciences team!

As a Vice President in our EMEA Life Sciences, Innovation Economy team, you will be responsible for building, growing and retaining meaningful, profitable relationships within the different verticals of Life Sciences and Health Tech. You are customer focused, enjoy building relationships and providing financial advice to your clients.

In this role you will be the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with the world's most innovative companies. We work both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the entire firm to our clients.

You will meet business development goals, seeking opportunities to sell multiple Banking products to high quality prospects and clients and anticipating their future needs to help them reach their goals and maximize our revenues over the life of the relationship.

Responsibilities:
  • You will develop a calling plan to prioritise revenue opportunities and are responsible for cultivating referral sources, building long term relationships and calling on high quality prospects.
  • Specific goals are developed depending upon client portfolio needs as well as sector and geographic coverage.
  • There is a strong emphasis on in-person meetings with clients, prospects and referral sources.
  • Working with colleagues in credit solutions and investment banking is a critical component of your responsibilities.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for origination, innovation or strategic partnerships.
  • Find ways to drive efficiency in infrastructure through automation, as well as identifying innovative opportunities offered by new technologies.
  • An exceptional partner, who will collaborate across all parts of JP Morgan including investment banking, large cap corporate banking, payments, derivatives, wealth management, private bank, risk, industry groups, among others.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate the ability to build a brand within your market that represents Life Sciences as the “Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most diverse clients.”
  • Develop new business in your market by acquiring new relationships, deepening existing relationships by delivering the entire Firm, and leading internal strategic discussions across all our solutions including credit and payments.
  • Relentlessly focus on seeking out the best and most diverse founders and management teams powering innovation by leveraging a referral network built through business activities and relationship development.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset balanced with the ability to manage risk appropriately.
  • Collaborate with different teams and geographies across JP Morgan to bring the best solutions to our clients.
  • Be passionate about innovation, the start-up and growth stage ecosystem and entrepreneurship.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills:
  • 5+ years of related banking experience for Health Tech, Healthcare or Life Sciences.
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Banking products and services and some understanding of Investment Banking.
  • Excellent sales management and business development skills.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business and control partners.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and creative; uses sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done.
  • Strong team player mindset.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Founders, C-suite and board members.
  • Relationships with leading Venture Capital investors in early and late stage tech.
  • Knowledge of the UK and European Healthtech/Healthcare market.
  • Background in Life Sciences or related degrees and/or relevant sector experience in other roles is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree and formal credit training preferred.
  • Strong committed team player, looking to add to a national team of likeminded, passionate Innovation Economy bankers.
