Great opportunity to join the Financial Reporting Group in Edinburgh who are responsible for the issuance of interim, final and other financial statements of the collective vehicles serviced by the site on behalf of UK, Channel Islands, Dutch, Luxembourg and South African based clients.

As a Financial Reporting Vice President – Part Time within the Financial Reporting Group, you will oversee client portfolios for Investment Trusts and complete the oversight review of statutory and regulatory reports produced by the Financial Reporting Centre of Excellence team offshore. You will be managing, tracking and supporting the production of top-quality financial statement and regulatory reporting services to JPMorgan clients. These services are high profile and vital to the continued development and success of JPMorgan’s Edinburgh operations group.

Job responsibilities:

  • Completes delivery of service to clients ensuring that these meet regulatory and agreed service delivery targets, including the control of the preparation, the review and sign off of fund financial statements in accordance with accounting, regulatory and client requirements.
  • Completes senior manager oversight review of accounts and files for audit and interim financials.
  • Manages and implements any changes to service agreed with the client, according to internal policy and with regard for impacts on service level agreements.
  • Act as primary escalation contact for the client, regulatory bodies and external auditors and ensure that queries/issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular service review meetings and ensure that all agreed actions are resolved to agreed time-scales, with attendance, as required, at Board Meetings.
  • Escalate service issues supplemented with appropriate analysis and suggested rectification to Senior Management.
  • Ensure quality control of team production is in place and regularly implemented.
  • Prioritise and manage the team resources efficiently to maintain established service levels.
  • Continually assess the process/procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Active participation, and lead where appropriate, in departmental projects/initiatives, particularly the technology change agenda as it impacts operations.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting department with the external environment.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Dedicated with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective and timely escalation to all levels of business.
  • Time Management and resource/task allocation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated, innovative and analytical.
  • Knowledge of Investment Trusts and AIC SORP (in addition to UK SORP, and IFRS), regulatory reporting requirements and fund structures.
  • Excellent knowledge of software packages (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).

  • Good operational knowledge of Fund accounting and Financial Reporting systems.
