The Office of the Secretary (OTS), which sits within the Firm’s Legal function, partners with senior management, control groups, lines of business and corporate units to promote effective governance of the Firm.
As a Company Secretary - Associate within the Office of the Secretary at J.P. Morgan, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering corporate governance and company secretarial services to the Firm’s subsidiaries that operate in Ireland. You will act as the lead strategic business partner to senior stakeholders within EMEA, providing advice on corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and deliver corporate governance and company secretarial services to the Firm’s subsidiaries that operate in Ireland.
- Act as the lead strategic business partner to senior stakeholders within EMEA, primarily in Ireland or related to Irish legal entity boards.
- Work closely with the Head of OTS for Ireland and other members of OTS globally in delivering the strategic and operational objectives of OTS.
- Provide proactive support to Irish boards and senior management on corporate governance matters.
- Oversee and deliver day-to-day corporate governance and company secretarial services in respect of Irish legal entities.
- Monitor changes in corporate legislation and the financial services regulatory environment.
- Oversee and coordinate information flows to Irish legal entity boards and board committees.
- Act as an effective channel of communication for Irish legal entity board members.
- Provide support to coordinate board member onboarding, induction and ongoing training.
- Provide support in implementing governance enhancements in relation to OTS managed legal entities.
- Develop effective working relationships with others within OTS.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Strong degree-level academic background.
- Part/Fully Qualified Company Secretary, Corporate Governance Professional or Corporate Solicitor with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Track record of strong execution on corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
- Detailed understanding of corporate governance matters impacted by changing law and regulations in the financial services industry.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with board members and senior management.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and resilient.
- Strong written and verbal skills, and an effective communicator.
- Able to prioritise, handle time pressure and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Experience gained working in regulated financial services.
