As an AI Controls Enablement Lead in Controls Strategy & Innovation, you lead a team of Controls professionals with deep technical AI expertise who sit at the intersection of business and technology.

The team translates what AI is doing into language that the business and Controls can act on and prototypes automated controls and solutions that can be implemented at scale across Asset & Wealth Management and beyond.

On any given day, you may conduct a joint risk review with a Control Manager, bringing technical expertise while they own the controls finding.

You will act as a co-developer, coach, and gatekeeper across Controls, Technology, and the business, making the invisible visible and the technical actionable.

This role provides significant exposure to senior Controls leadership and senior business stakeholders, positioning you to influence how Controls builds and deploys AI-enabled solutions for the business.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Develop AI tools alongside Citizen Developers and Technology, optimizing control frameworks, identifying risks sooner, and working with the business to solve problems while co-signing every tool submission before deployment.
  • Determine the appropriate tool to solve business problems in a cost-effective manner across AI and automation technologies (e. g., Ui Path, Python, and other JPMorgan-authorized workflow, process, and decision automation tools) to prototype and scale automated controls.
  • Run scenario simulations and red-team exercises; establish best practices and standards for the review and deployment of AI tools across the AI Controls Enablement team.
  • Lead the AI Controls Council and produce the quarterly AI Controls Intelligence Report for senior leadership, including the status of in-flight items, prioritization of new work, and solutions launched with impact.
  • Define measurable outcomes for the team, guide solution development, and foster collaboration while establishing and sharing best practices.
  • Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk or control management within financial services, with a focus on compliance and operational risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI models, including their assumptions, limitations, and failure modes.
  • Proven ability to translate complex, technical AI behavior into documented, escalatable, and actionable risk findings within a controls framework.
  • Capability to implement robust controls to safeguard business operations and meet critical regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in process and data analysis to enhance control environments and interpret business needs and trends.
  • Confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture of risk management.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with senior Controls leadership and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio), with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations.
