Overview
2026 Glasgow Software Apprenticeship - Emerging Talent Program. Start your career in technology and earn your degree in BSc Software Development on this four year program. You will learn in a hands-on environment what it’s like to be part of a team working with and developing new cutting edge technologies.
As a Software Development Apprentice in Glasgow, you will acquire underpinning knowledge and understanding of software development via a blended online learning and on-campus delivery mode with core IT competencies developed through an integrated work based learning curriculum. The on-campus delivery will allow you to hone your programming and software engineering skills with support from experienced academics and professionals. We offer an environment of support and personal investment where you’re given the opportunity to develop your career alongside your personal and technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Working on enhancements and upgrades to existing software and developing new applications as part of an agile team.
- Reviewing code and testing applications.
- Participating in team projects, contributing to the business while applying classroom knowledge.
Qualifications
- Meeting the eligibility criteria for Apprenticeship Levy Funding.
- A minimum of BBBB grades (or equivalent), including Maths or Computer Science or Physics, at Scottish Higher level (or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A continuous learning mindset.

- Passion for technology within financial services and a drive to learn new skills.

We will be filling our classes on a rolling basis and encourage you to submit your application as early as possible before postings close.
What’s Next? To begin the application process, you will be asked to enter your email address. This email will be used to create and maintain your profile. If you advance to the next stage, you will receive an email invitation to participate in an online Super Day. The online Super Day will happen within the last two weeks of October or the beginning of November. If successful after the Assessment Centre, the final recruitment step is an in-person Assessment Evening, which will happen within the last two weeks of November or the beginning of December. The recruitment process may take several months and we will keep you informed of your status.
