The role is at Vice President level working with an Executive Director supporting our EMEA Securities Services business. This provides custody, fund services and related services to investor clients. The position is based in London working within a broad VAT Team where you will obtain exposure to the bank’s global businesses.
Job responsibilities
- Understand products delivered by Securities Services to its clients across EMEA.
- Advise the business on the VAT treatment across EMEA of these products and VAT obligations arising to the business.
- Understand and advise on the VAT treatment of services within the business operating model.
- Oversight and involvement in tax compliance for the business.
- Working with multiple stakeholder teams: business leadership; business product; billing; finance; legal; tax compliance; and external advisers.
- Liaising closely within the VAT Team where issues and responsibilities intersect.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Accounting or Tax qualification, e.g. ICAEW or CTA (indirect tax route preferable).
- VAT advisory experience preferably Manager level at Big 4 or equivalent in-house.
- A detailed understanding of UK/EU VAT principles, with knowledge/experience of VAT issues.
- Some knowledge of VAT compliance requirements and processes.

- Strong analytical and VAT technical skills with a curiosity for how VAT applies to complex financial services businesses.
