J. P. Morgan Trust Company (Jersey) Limited is seeking a Trust Associate to join our growing fiduciary team in Jersey, Channel Islands. You will support the day-to-day administration of trust and corporate structures, help deliver a high standard of client service, and partner closely with experienced colleagues and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate execution and strong governance.

Our Business

International Trust Services (ITS) is a core business of the Private Bank, offering discretionary and directed trust products to meet the long-term estate planning needs of our wealthiest clients domiciled in Asia, Latin America and EMEA.

The Role

The successful candidate will work within the ITS business in Jersey to ensure that fiduciary services are delivered in a manner consistent with all legal, regulatory and internal requirements. The candidate will administer the end-to-end execution of specific functions in support of trusts and corporate administration. These functions include but are not limited to investment subscription and redemption support, payments, corporate administration, trust and corporate entity closing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with Trust Officers in the preparation and execution of relevant documents related to the various aspects of trust administration; including account opening forms for the opening of internal and external bank and investment accounts, processing all required documentation including Letters of Direction, Minutes, Power of Attorney, Resolutions and subscription documents.
  • Process transactions for the structure including distributions, credit facilities, invoice settlement liquidations and transfers, including the preparation of entries in the trust administration system.
  • Collaborating with the respective client facing teams, including Client Advisors and Wealth Advisors, to ensure timely and accurate communication with settlors, beneficiaries and professional advisors.
  • Liaison with the new business approval team for the onboarding of new structures.
  • Liaison with the bank’s operations team with regards to the opening of bank accounts.
  • Liaison with the trust accounting team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for the trust structures.
  • Ensure proper communication to accounting and fee billing on account activities.
  • Assisting in the performance of fiduciary reviews and other compliance and risk management tasks to ensure that the structures are administered in accordance with regulatory and group requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of client meetings and other projects and duties as assigned by management.

This is a client-facing role that supports the servicing of clients by preparing work for review by a Trust Officer and Team Leader, maintaining accurate records and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.

Reducing risk of error by following set procedures. Taking part in ad-hoc project work — any project deadline will need to be met along with daily workloads. Adhere to Risk & Associate Compliance procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.

Qualifications/Attributes:

  • Ideally a minimum of 2-5 years’ fiduciary experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications; adaptive to new systems and technologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision
  • High level of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Willingness to complete STEP qualification
