Market Risk Technology is responsible for providing JP Morgan's Risk Managers with the capability to assess the financial impact of various adverse market scenarios at a firm wide level. This capability covers calculations, scenario analysis, analytics, reporting and other tools and processes required to manage risk. Our team is responsible for developing Agentic AI based solutions, which help our users streamline their day-to-day roles.
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities:
- Interface closely with the business, quantitative research analysts, and upstream as well as downstream technology teams across the firm.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Work in an Agile environment, always looking to improve.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
- Professional development experience with Python.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, specifically LLM Orchestration and Agentic AI libraries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, automated testing, and operational stability.
- Experience communicating to business facing customers and technical teams.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Familiarity with Banking/Finance/Risk domains.
- Experience in designing and implementing pipelines using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS) & containerization technologies (e.g. Docker).
