As an Associate Control Manager within the Investment Product Control Management team, you will play a pivotal role in proactively managing operational risks and supporting the expansion of our product offerings. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to identify and address emerging risks, ensuring our business remains strong and resilient. You will foster a people-first culture, championing innovation and inclusivity while helping us deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers and communities. In this role, you will be at the heart of our efforts to grow responsibly and drive positive change.

Job responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with new and existing Investments products.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for product development and change initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on control processes and risk management practices.
  • Contribute to the Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) program, focusing on control design, risk assessment, issue management, and governance.
  • Partner with colleagues across business, operations, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology to drive rigorous operational risk practices.
  • Manage key metrics to inform on the health of the operational risk and control environment.
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives, including awareness programs and training sessions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Relevant experience in operational risk management within product, controls, compliance, audit, or a large financial institution, regulator, consulting firm, or retail investments manager.
  • Ability to perform process walkthroughs and translate process understanding into effective risk identification and control design documentation.
  • Strong acumen for risk identification, assessment, and development of effective control mechanisms.
  • Experience partnering with business and stakeholders to manage remediation of operational risk issues.
  • Good knowledge of investment products and services such as Wealth Management, Managed Investments, Self-Directed Investment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with stakeholder engagement experience at all levels.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile and hands-on experience using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Experience supporting product expansion into new markets.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and foster a proactive risk management culture.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting consumer banking investments.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training or awareness programs.
  • Ability to analyze and report on operational risk metrics.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
