An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join a newly established Indirect Tax Operations Team as a Client Project Manager - Vice President based in Bournemouth. This role offers a unique platform to operate at the intersection of business, operations, and technology within one of the world's leading global banks, providing broad exposure across multiple corporate business lines. You will be part of a diverse, global team focused on supporting the bank's expansion of E-Invoicing and E-Reporting regulatory compliance on an international scale.
As a Client Project Manager - Vice President in the Indirect Tax Operations team, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Operations, Controls, Technology) and business lines to drive the firmwide implementation of E-Invoicing in response to evolving regulatory requirements. You will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for program and project delivery, ensuring effective communication, transparency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Lead and manage complex, high-impact, cross-functional programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations, Controls, Finance and Sales to define business requirements, set priorities, and deliver on strategic project plans and milestones.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program/project plans, timelines, and roadmaps; ensure on-time delivery and proactively manage scope, resources, and dependencies.
- Coordinate multiple simultaneous workstreams, facilitating meetings and managing cross-functional working groups to ensure program delivery and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program and project risks and issues; drive change management initiatives and ensure adherence to the firm's risk, controls, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting, metrics, and executive-level presentations; maintain dashboards and scorecards for stakeholders and leadership.
- Serve as the central point of contact for program/project status, updates, and issue resolution; ensure clear definition and tracking of tasks, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Leverage project and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) to plan, execute, and monitor progress.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the team.
- Engage with senior ED and MD level stakeholders, providing program updates and strategic recommendations to influence business direction and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Project/Program Management: Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, complex projects or programs, preferably involving system integration and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, present to, and engage senior leaders; skilled in facilitating meetings and managing cross-functional working groups to drive program delivery.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with vendors, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, address technical and operational challenges, and develop actionable solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in maintaining records and documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
- Controls & Risk Mindset: Deep understanding of risk identification, mitigation, and compliance standards.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage evolving requirements, ambiguity, and unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business intelligence tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Significant experience in project management, product delivery, or relevant domain area, within financial services or business banking.
- Familiarity with billing systems and their functionality in relation to tax compliance.
- Experience working with indirect taxes, such as VAT, and familiarity with international E-Invoicing regulations and compliance requirements.
