As a Vice President or Executive Director, Senior Research Analyst in the Private Company Research team, you will be responsible for building up and leading company-specific coverage for a range of private fintech and payments companies. This high impact, fast-paced role will involve conducting deep research and analysis using a broad range of primary/secondary and traditional/alternative data sources, developing and communicating strategic insights into the performance and disruptive potential of a range of companies alongside key industry dynamics.
Producing and marketing differentiated company notes and sector pieces, alongside the ability to successfully build relationships with industry investors, experts, management teams and internal stakeholders will be central to success in this role.
Prior experience in the evaluation of companies and in Financial Services, Financial Technology or Payments companies, or direct industry experience is essential.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct fundamental company and industry research leveraging traditional & alternative sources
- Evaluate emerging technologies, business models and companies
- Build and maintain models to track company and industry dynamics
- Write research notes on covered companies and sectors
- Build relationships with internal and external clients, industry experts, and management teams
- Coach and train junior analysts
- An extensive experience in sell-side or buy-side research as an equity/credit analyst or strategist
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Passion for and understanding of emerging technologies
- Track record of building strong relationships with investors and company management
- Experience and relationships in the Financial Services/Technology/Payments industry
- Advanced proficiency in analytical, data and market tools (e.g., Excel, Python, Bloomberg)
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
