As an Associate in Equity Finance Sales Trading within our EMEA team, you will support and grow relationships with hedge funds and institutional clients. You will price and execute securities lending, financing, and synthetic equity solutions, working closely with senior sales traders and cross‐functional partners. You will play a key role in disciplined risk management, regulatory compliance, and data‐driven decision‐making. Together, we foster a collaborative culture where your ideas and contributions matter.
Job responsibilities:
- Support and grow relationships with hedge funds and institutional clients across EMEA.
- Price and execute locates, borrows, and synthetic equity solutions for single stocks, ETFs, and Fixed Income instruments.
- Manage day‐to‐day client inquiries, providing timely market colour and updates.
- Prepare and deliver client updates, pitch materials, and follow‐ups.
- Monitor locate queues, hard‐to‐borrow lists, and negotiate rates within delegated limits.
- Track corporate action calendars and dividend events; implement rate and financing adjustments.
- Collaborate with Stock Loan, Delta One/Swaps, Prime Brokerage, Legal & Compliance, and Middle Office.
- Maintain awareness of EMEA securities lending market structure and settlement regimes.
- Apply regulatory controls and ensure proper client communications.
- Utilize data analytics for pricing and utilisation insights.
- Uphold disciplined risk management and documentation practices.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Significant experience in equity finance, stock loan, equity swaps, Delta One, or prime brokerage/client service within EMEA markets.
- Working knowledge of securities lending mechanics, borrow rate formation, and synthetic equity basics.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with OMS/EMS and internal inventory/locate tools.
- Data literacy for pricing and utilisation analytics.
- Familiarity with EMEA market microstructure, settlement practices, and special names dynamics.
- Awareness of SFTR, CSDR, and short‐sale disclosure regimes.
- Clear, concise communicator with strong responsiveness and follow‐through.
- Detail‐oriented with a disciplined approach to limits, conduct, and information barriers.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience with EMEA corporate action–driven financing (dividends, rights, scrip) and event names.
- Familiarity with securities lending data vendors and analytics.
- Basic Python or SQL skills for rate and utilisation analysis.
- Exposure to balance‐sheet and capital metrics (RWA, SLR/NSFR context) and collateral optimisation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FCA in the UK, AMF in France, local regulatory exams).
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
