This is an Associate - Senior Auditor role within the Internal Audit Risk team based in London covering several risk stripes (e.g. Market Risk, Principal Risk, and Structural Interest Rate Risk). This role provides an exciting opportunity for a professional career growth in audit, evaluating risk management and risk estimation practices across a wide range of asset classes and lines of business within JPMorgan Chase.
As an EMEA Risk Associate - Senior Auditor in the Internal Audit department you will plan, execute and document audit reports, partner closely with global audit colleagues and business stakeholders, and use judgment to strengthen internal controls. In this role you will be provided with the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of the Risk Management Framework at JPMorgan Chase.
Job Responsibilities- Support the broader Audit Risk team, in overseeing the execution of the corresponding Internal Audit Risk Plan.
- Executing coverage of audit work across Line of Businesses, multiple locations/legal entities, and ensuring sufficient coverage is conducted in line with local regulatory requirements (where applicable).
- Plan, execute and document, with limited supervision, audit activities to a high standard in accordance with department and professional practices.
- Share information with internal/external stakeholders frequently, transparently and effectively to promote clarity and understanding.
- Analyse risks and proactively identify the root-cause of issues with a view to providing recommendations for improvement where weaknesses are identified.
- Detail audit findings and use judgement to provide an overall opinion on the control environment.
- Communicate audit results and issues to Senior Management and Stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders based on mutual respect and a willingness to collaborate.
- Identify areas of emerging risk, and accurately dimension control issues, including cross LOB impacts.
- Stay current on relevant industry, regulatory, accounting, operational and/or technology/infrastructure principles as defined by LOB.
- Partner with other teams within Internal Audit to support appropriate audit coverage.
- Monitor and regularly review learning and development opportunities for the team.
- Participate in business initiatives to support the department and firm objectives.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of risk monitoring and management, including risk metrics such as VaR, Current Expected Credit Losses, and Stress.
- Effectively utilises data collection and analysis tools and techniques.
- Understands key regulatory requirements most relevant to the Capital Risk Management.
- Employs critical thinking to respond to changes in the work environment.
- Completes work effectively and efficiently; clears obstacles.
- Demonstrates ability to synthesize information extracted from relevant risk analysis and control assessment techniques.
- Takes ownership of self-development, including stretch assignments, to prepare for greater responsibilities and career growth.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
- Recognized risk management qualification or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- Willing to travel as needed.
