We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our EMEA Consumer & Retail team, based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.
J.P. Morgan's Investment Banking Consumer & Retail Coverage Group provides a full range of investment banking services to numerous clients across the EMEA region. Its clients include many of the world's leading firms in the Consumer & Retail space. The Group's primary focus is on delivering creative solutions to clients across the full Investment Banking product spectrum, including mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt capital market transactions as well as market top-tier corporate broking services across the EMEA Consumer & Retail client base, together with colleagues from other product teams.
As an Investment Banking Associate within the EMEA Consumer & Retail team, you will play a crucial role in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Addressing the needs of our clients, contributing to the enhancement of J.P. Morgan's franchise and reputation in the marketplace, and partnering across teams to develop strategies for clients.
- Building detailed financial models, evaluating market data, as well as preparing and presenting client and internal presentations.
- Managing client transactions from pitch to close, and devising innovative and creative solutions to complex, real-world business challenges.

Job responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of pitch documentation, financial analysis and company valuations.
- Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions.
- Build advanced financial analyses, perform company valuations and M&A models with the support of experienced bankers.
- Assist in the execution and day-to-day management of transactions, as well as providing day-to-day corporate broking services for our LSE and AIM listed clients, interacting with senior team members and clients on a daily basis.
- Liaise with other product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM, Leveraged Finance) and third parties (lawyers, accountants etc.).
- Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to Associates and Analysts.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience in investment banking and/or corporate finance in front office roles.
- True passion for the Consumer and Retail industry.
- Steadfast commitment to building a long term career in investment banking and corporate broking.
- Outstanding modelling skills and financial analysis with solid analytical/quantitative skills.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to develop and ability to learn quickly.
- Team player with good organisational skills and a rigorous eye for detail.
