JPMorgan Chase has undertaken an aggressive digital transformation strategy with the build-out of its International Consumer Bank. It is investing in innovative ways to attract customers and deepen customer engagement through digital products and experiences across multiple markets. Our team, in Control Management, is at the heart of driving this transformation in partnership with the line of business.

As the first line of defense, Control Management oversees and enhances the control environment for the International Consumer Bank. To support this exciting area we are looking for intellectually curious, honest, and passionate individuals willing to be constantly challenged. In this role, you will be at the heart of our efforts to grow responsibly and drive positive change. You will partner with diverse teams to identify, assess, and manage operational risks, and act as a driving force behind the strategic priorities that will future proof our business in an ever-changing global landscape.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the business, getting first-hand insight into challenges they face as they design and build products and services that will support our strategy.
  • Oversee the business area’s operational risk and control environment, ensuring effective risk identification and assessment.
  • Lead the development of creative and innovative solutions to manage risks, ensuring that controls are properly designed and operating effectively.
  • Act as independent advisor and thought leader on new business, products and initiatives, collaborating effectively with our support partners to achieve a strong control framework.
  • Provide support for ongoing control programs (e.g., new business initiatives, change management, metrics development and reporting, control evaluation, issue management); ensure compliance with operational risk standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Provide governance support, including participating in governance forums, audits and other business reviews.
  • Support cross departmental initiatives, including awareness programs and training sessions.

Required Capabilities, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, solid critical thinking in technical scenarios, attention to detail and strong time management.
  • Ability to synthesize information and formulate creative and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong acumen for risk identification, assessment, and development of effective control mechanisms.
  • Able to work effectively and independently in agile environments, adaptable to shifting priorities and delivering value whilst dealing with high degrees of uncertainty and continuous change.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - you are someone who is collaborative and can build meaningful professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner.
  • Interest in the intersection of technology and financial services; comfortable working in a digital-first environment with agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Solid experience in financial services industry, with background in controls, IT, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
