As a Senior Lead Solution Architect at JPMorganChase within the Securities Services Engineering & Architecture team, you will be part of a cross-functional agile team responsible for designing, assessing, and delivering high-quality solution architectures underpinning the platforms built as part of a strategic reengineering effort supporting the Securities Services businesses within the Commercial & Investment Bank.

Solution Architecture, as practiced in this role, comprises three interrelated disciplines — Functional Architecture, Information Architecture, and Technical Architecture — and the Lead Solution Architect is expected to work fluidly across all three. You will engage across multiple concurrent streams of work, helping accelerate development, improve solution quality, and ensure alignment to firm-wide architecture patterns and standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with Business Operations, Product Management, and Technology stakeholders to ensure business requirements are properly articulated, understood, and realized as secure and robust solutions.
  • Design and assess end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise-scale platforms, including data modeling, meta-modeling, master and reference data management, data quality, metadata management, data taxonomy, data integration, and data migration.
  • Apply AI tools and techniques to improve Solution Architecture practices — including accelerating requirements analysis, pattern identification, data modeling, and architecture documentation.
  • Ensure full conformance with firm-wide, CIB, and sub-Line of Business (sub-LOB) architecture patterns and standards, participating in architecture governance bodies.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, internal teams, and technology partners to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability within existing systems and information landscapes.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability and solution quality.
  • Evangelize the benefits and importance of Solution Architecture across business and technology communities through strong communication, presentations, workshops, and agile development forums.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis and decisioning across the product family, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Establish reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability/auditability, resiliency, and security controls.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering or architecture concepts and applied experience.
  • Hands-on Solution Architecture experience in enterprise-sized applications spanning functional, information, and technical dimensions, with strong working knowledge of data modeling and meta-modeling (such as UML) or tools such as ERwin, Power Designer, or MagicDraw.
  • Knowledge of data architecture options including ODS, Data Lake, Data Catalog (DCAT), Data Warehousing, OLTP, and OLAP, and the treatment of data as a technology asset.
  • Knowledge of core Solution Architecture capabilities: Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration, and Data Modeling.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI, machine learning, or related techniques as applied to architecture or software engineering disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with object-oriented software development using languages such as Java, Python, or C++; data formats including XML and JSON; and database management technologies including SQL, Oracle, Cassandra, and Public Cloud data offerings.
  • Very strong knowledge of the Financial Services domain with emphasis on institutional businesses including Trading Middle Office, Prime Brokerage, Custody, Fund Accounting, and Securities and Derivatives Products across buy-side and sell-side perspectives.
  • Experience working within lean/agile development frameworks, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Extremely strong communication and facilitation skills across business and technology stakeholders, with the ability to communicate unambiguously through presentations, documents, workshops, and agile meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment in architecture and engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise-grade architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Hands-on Public Cloud solution design experience, primarily AWS, including architecture certification for a Public Cloud provider.
  • Experience with microservice application development, Service-Oriented Architecture, or N-Tier Architecture.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code designs and secure application and software design practices.
  • Experience with Cyber Security concerns informing solution architectures, including working knowledge of industry standards in the authentication and authorization domains.
  • UML experience/exposure.
