As a Lead Software Engineer in Cloud Foundational Services, you will enhance, build, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will lead delivery across multiple technical domains while staying hands-on with design, development, testing, and troubleshooting. You will help define and reinforce engineering standards that support firm objectives. You will partner with your team to improve operational stability through automation and thoughtful architecture. You will contribute to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect. Build the cloud-native foundations that help teams across JPMorganChase deliver secure, reliable technology at scale. You’ll work in an agile, cloud-focused environment where your ideas shape how we design, build, test, and run critical platforms. In this role, you’ll lead by example with hands‑on engineering and drive outcomes through strong technical decisions. You’ll also help strengthen our engineering standards and continuously improve the developer and operational experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot complex, large-scale cloud-native systems using creative approaches to overcome technical challenges.
- Lead by example in delivering secure, high-quality production code.
- Review and debug code written by others, and share knowledge to support and develop junior talent.
- Identify recurring issues and drive elimination or automation of remediation to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
- Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices and leading-edge technologies.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for multi-tenant platforms.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods, with a focus on delivering tangible improvements.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, infrastructure cost management, and least-privilege security principles.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and experience working in a large-scale multi-cloud environment.
