Job Summary
As a Lead Software Engineer in the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will design, develop, and deliver software components for state-of-the-art technology products. You will work on the Global Portfolio Swap platform, supporting multiple environments and collaborating with global teams. Your role will involve driving innovation, enhancing systems, and building strong relationships across the business. You will help deliver secure, stable, and scalable solutions that meet evolving business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and support ongoing and new projects on the Global Portfolio Swap platform.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions and break down technical problems.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software solutions.
- Support Production, Simulation, QA, and Development environments.
- Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and maintain various pricing systems.
- Drive innovation and adoption of best practices within the team.
- Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives and identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage defect tracking systems, resolve issues, and prepare updates for systems.
- Participate in the full system development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
- Build strong working relationships with other teams and business partners across Product Development, Front Office, Middle Office Operations, Finance, Legal, and other functional areas.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Strong experience in Java, Spring, multithreading, REST, Data Caching Services, DB schema design, and data access technologies.
- Knowledge of automated testing methodologies and frameworks such as JUnit, TDD, or BDD.
- Hands-on experience in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL, including writing stored procedures.
- Experience designing ecosystems for web applications and API platforms.
- Experience building, orchestrating, and deploying highly scalable REST-based stateless APIs/web services.
- Strong object-oriented design and programming skills, with knowledge of common design patterns.
- Familiarity with build tools (e.g., Maven), continuous integration tools (e.g., Hudson), and version control systems (e.g., Git or SVN).
- Experience with streaming solutions like Kafka and messaging queues like Web Sphere MQ.
- Proficient in UNIX, Linux, and MS Windows; skilled in UNIX Shell and Perl scripting.
- Good understanding of full software lifecycle development processes, including Agile.
- Experience working on major, technically challenging global projects.
- Experience in financial markets, with knowledge of equity swaps and synthetic prime brokerage.
- Positive, can-do attitude and ability to work well in a global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
