The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) is responsible for developing the requirements and standards for the firm's enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Programs, and the provision of compliance services to the Firm. The team covers both global and business-aligned functions supporting the firm's Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Anti-Corruption programs.

As a GFCC Lead within the Global Financial Crimes Compliance team for Banking, Markets Trading & Sales and Securities Services, you will provide expert guidance on all facets of the GFCC programme, encompassing AML, Sanctions, and Corruption, while maintaining direct communication with the regional GFCC Head for CIB.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide advisory on Sanctions and AML to the relevant Lines of Business teams in London and across the region
  • Contribute to the setting of direction in global standards & processes, representing EMEA on various relevant global committees / working groups
  • Support of the New Business Initiative process (NBIA) and Change Management initiatives including the provision of GFCC sign off for the relevant lines of businesses
  • Participate in Business Control Committees and AML Oversight Committees
  • Provide GFCC support for audit exams and regulatory requests
  • Facilitate line of business client risk appetite decisions in conjunction with first line senior management
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders in line of business Compliance, the business, risk management and legal functions
  • Contribute to development and deployment of relevant AML training as well as the delivery of focused face to face sessions where required
  • Participate in external industry forums and assisting in the formulation of responses to notices and proposals by regulators and industry bodies
  • Support client on-boarding functions, acting as an escalation point for complex client on-boarding issues and instances of negative media, participate in due diligence visits to high risk CIB clients
  • Support the conduct of regular AML/Sanctions risk assessments within the relevant lines of business, assist in the investigation of suspicious activity

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Knowledge of UK AML regulation and guidance as well as an understanding of USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, EU Money Laundering Directives and/or AML regulations issued by EU and US authorities
  • Knowledge of Global Sanctions programmes with a good knowledge of OFAC and UK Treasury programmes
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skill
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and research skills and an ability to produce quality results on a timely basis
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals across multiple lines and/or functional lines
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills, including confidence in interactions with senior levels of management
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the business and GFCC management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
