The Special Purpose Vehicle Middle Office (SPV MO) provides the central point of contact and support for SPV deals that are issued off a Repackaging Platform. The team provides global support for deals that originate in Europe, Asia and North America, providing operational expertise to the marketers/structures that manage these bespoke deals.

As a Trade Support Special Purpose Vehicle - Analyst at JPMorganChase, you will coordinate and ensure smooth settlement of the various SPV deals that are issued, providing operational and administrative support to the SPVs that have acceded to the Repackaging Programmes. You interact with senior internal stakeholders in the business, internal and external legal counsel and associated operational support teams, as well as external service providers, such as the Paying Agent, Custodian, Trustee and Corporate Administrators appointed by the SPVs to support the deals; gaining a true end to end view of the issuance process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide front to back, and cross-asset class Middle Office support to Trading, Structuring, Sales, Finance and Legal.
  • Co-ordinate multi-asset class SPV new issuance activity, providing operational support from pre-deal analysis, through Trade date until Issue Date.
  • Assist with cost calculations for SPV activity, pricing new trades, restructurings and upsize cost impacts.
  • Run core daily tasks including lifecycle support on reconciliation of SPV cash balances, monitoring Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) activity, coupon fixing, payments and corporate actions.
  • Assist with complex activity, including restructuring, novation and unwind activity.
  • Understand all KPIs and exceptions to ensure timely resolution and escalation.
  • Ensure the smooth settlement of a variety of SPV Repackaging trades through coordination with each of the various teams involved.
  • Act as a key point person for the various service providers including Issuing and Paying Agents, Custodians, Corporate Administrators and Trustees on each deal.
  • Maintain accurate records for all issuances and lifecycle activity.
  • Help with day to day query management, and provision of subject matter expertise to global SPV Repack stakeholders, with particular focus on daily core activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of operational trade support.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving including root cause analysis, identifying solutions and taking ownership of these through to resolution.
  • Must have clear communication skills and an ability to use these to work collaboratively, explain, and challenge, as appropriate.
  • Attention to details and sense of ownership.
  • Great team player able to work in a pressurized and changing environment.
  • Possess strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Technical skills, especially in Excel VBA and Python.
  • Prior experience of Special Purpose Vehicles is desirable but not a pre-requisite.
