Role Overview
Our Client Advisor role is an integral part of the JPMAM UK Funds team. You will work with senior sales colleagues and manage key relationships while driving new business opportunities with Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), Wealth Managers (WMs) and Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs) across the UK. The role involves deepening existing relationships, cultivating new ones, predominantly through office‑based interactions, over the phone, and, when appropriate, across the UK in person.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a senior sales team to deepen and broaden relationships with IFAs and DFMs and take lead on your own accounts.
- Maintain a high level of proactive and reactive activity with clients, mainly virtually.
- Utilise technology sales tools and manage data on CRM effectively.
- Plan and attend client meetings as appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to provide excellent service and proposals to clients.
- Adopt a consultative approach to help clients build stronger portfolios using Market Insights and Portfolio Insights programs.
- Develop a thorough understanding of key investment strategies and the market landscape.
- Collaborate effectively with senior sales partners and clients to meet sales targets and deepen partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong understanding of financial markets and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
- Demonstrated teamwork and self‑reliance capability.
- Sales experience, especially over the phone, with a proven track record in selling investment management/financial products and managing relationships.
- Highly motivated, flexible and able to travel across the UK to host JPM and third‑party events.
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
- Industry and product knowledge with the ability to build relationships across the organisation and partner firms.
- Resilience and the ability to work against a range of targets set in a scorecard.
- Excellent knowledge of capital markets across asset classes and regions (equity, fixed income, alternatives, emerging markets, etc.).
- Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or a desire to obtain the IMC.
- Preferred: excellent written and verbal communication; ability to leverage global resources; strong leadership abilities including driving sales results, growing assets, exceeding activity, managing priorities, telling the JPM story clearly, and maintaining advisor relationships.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and effectiveness in presenting to financial advisors.
