Group Description - Portfolio Analysis Group
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced and challenging area? This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) to partner with the businesses. As a Portfolio & Performance Analysis Senior Associate within the Global Solutions and Alternatives team, you will collaborate closely with your fellow Global PAG Team members, the Technology teams, investment teams, and stakeholders to deliver accurate and insightful performance measurement and attribution analysis & reporting. You will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of one of the world's leading financial institutions while gaining exposure to diverse investment strategies across asset classes. Additionally, you will serve as a regional point of contact for business stakeholders, including portfolio managers, investment specialists, and client reporting teams. Your coverage will be global with teams in India, New York, Columbus, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, with the reporting line to a manager based in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting ex-post performance measurement and attribution analysis for Global Solutions and Alternative Investments portfolios to evaluate strategy effectiveness and outcomes, including onboarding and validating performance and attribution.
- Onboarding would include new account structures and portfolio construction.
- Develop a working proficiency of Global Multi-Asset Solutions, Equity Beta and Quantitative Investment Strategies and Alternatives.
- This includes the account structures, end-to-end performance and attribution workflows - from account set-up, data dependencies, performance and attribution calculations in context of fund accounting and investment accounting and communicating these results.
- Review output of performance and attributions strategic systems based upon underlying data sets relative to markets.
- Learn quickly to identify data quality, data completeness issues, cross check relative to markets, peers and trends.
- Work with Product Owners, Technology, and Business stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements, including innovative design and testing in the strategic Performance & Attribution systems.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders i.e., Portfolio Managers, Investment Specialists, Investment Directors, Client Account Managers, Client Reporting and serve as point of contact and communicate PAG capabilities to stakeholders.
- Work with cross-functional teams to refine processes, policies, and procedures related to performance, attribution, and risk analytics.
- Collaborate with other team members to investigate and resolve queries/issues related to performance/attribution sign-off, formulate best practices to improve the efficiency of the team.
- Ensure adherence to PAG controls processes i.e., timely Standard Operating Procedure ("SOP") updates, Change Management, User Tools minimization, Intelligent Automation workflows and documentation, and enable a governance-oriented migration to strategic platforms.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Relevant experience in financial services, with a focus on portfolio analytics, performance measurement, attribution and risk management, particularly within Multi-Asset, Passive Equities, and Alternatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to identifying issues, and being able to handle multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to team members and stakeholders and adjust the dialog to the stakeholder.
- Self-motivated and a self-starter, capable of working independently with minimal guidance to achieve objectives.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, business management, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with handling large datasets, proficiency with MS Excel, experience with Python/SQL programming, and tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, QlikView.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Progress towards advanced degree or certifications such as CFA or CAIA is advantageous.
- Experience with leveraging AI/LLMs to accomplish business objectives.
