We are seeking a skilled Postgres database engineer within Infrastructure Platforms to support our growing Postgres Database environment. The role involves close collaboration with software engineers and global DBA teams. Additionally, the engineer will mentor, train, and teach team members to build Postgres expertise across the organization.
Job responsibilities:
- Designing and architecting robust Postgres databases
- Certifying new versions and patches for production use
- Evaluating and recommending essential functionality, including extensions
- Maintaining a strong partnership with our Postgres Vendor
- Providing support during major incidents
- Leading and executing database migrations
- Advising junior engineers and technologists
- Adding to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Extensive knowledge of the Postgres Database Product.
- Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
- Adept in specific infrastructure technology and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private cloud.
