We are seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to drive the implementation and ongoing management of governance programs associated with laws, rules, and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable operating independently, and possess exceptional program management, executive presence, people leadership, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
As a Risk Management and Compliance (RM&C) Senior Program Manager within JPMorgan Chase & Co., you will lead a global program responsible for the day-to-day governance and oversight of legal and regulatory obligations. Your role will include designing and implementing a firmwide operating model, managing complex stakeholder engagements, and leading a high-performing team. You will be accountable for timely and accurate escalation and reporting to senior management and applicable committees on program health, risks, and issues. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team and engage with key stakeholders across the organization, requiring a strategic approach to relationship management and the ability to influence at the executive level.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development, strategy, and execution of the RM&C Legal Obligations program, ensuring alignment with firmwide objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement of the program, focusing on operating model efficiencies, stakeholder engagement, and adapting to an evolving regulatory landscape.
- Design, establish, and report on significant program and risk metrics, ensuring timely escalation and senior management awareness of key issues.
- Ensure adherence to firmwide standards across global and regional teams within Risk Management and Compliance.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders, business partners, and cross-functional teams to drive program success and influence decision-making.
- Demonstrate executive presence in all interactions, representing the program and department with professionalism, confidence, and clarity.
- Collaborate with technology and product teams to identify, design, and implement technology enhancements that support program objectives.
- Facilitate periodic governance forums and meetings with 100+ stakeholders globally to issue new program guidance, discuss key risks and issues, and drive resolution.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and materials for periodic senior leadership updates and committee meetings, effectively communicating complex information to executive audiences.
- Demonstrate strong thought leadership and strategic influence to drive key discussions and resolve complex issues across multiple departments.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team environment.
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and feedback to support career growth and team engagement.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
- Demonstrate relevant experience in Risk Management and Compliance, Legal, or similar legal and regulatory-facing roles within financial services.
- Lead large, complex, and global programs, operating independently and driving results.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills by proactively identifying, tracking, and reporting multiple workstreams and deliverables.
- Communicate exceptionally in both written and verbal forms, influencing and achieving consensus among diverse stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Represent the program and department confidently and credibly at all levels of the organization, showing executive presence.
- Think strategically and critically, challenging the status quo and providing innovative solutions.
- Analyze and resolve complex topics and problems, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Display professional maturity, sound judgment, and confidence when expressing points of view with senior leaders and varied audiences.
- Collaborate effectively across different business and functional areas, adapting interpersonal skills as needed.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are a plus.
- Experience designing business requirements and driving technology enhancements in partnership with product and technology teams.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx) is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry best practices in risk management and compliance.
