Are you experienced within a risk-based environment and are passionate about team leadership? Then you found the right position for you! As a Custody Operations - Governance & Oversight Vice President within the Global Custody Asset Servicing team, you will play a senior role in performing an oversight role, ensuring seamless and consistent adherence to regulatory requirements whilst also minimising risk to the department. This includes monitoring from a business owner standpoint, overseeing all components to meet service requirements and compliance with outsourcing laws, regulations and JPMC policies and procedures. Custody Operations are responsible for front to end processing of 1700+ clients, with $27.8 trillion Assets under Custody across 100 Global markets. This includes Onboarding, Settlements, Client Service and Asset Servicing.
Job responsibilities:
- Completes Governance & Oversight of Custody Operations teams to ensure compliance with JPM UK regulatory obligation and business service standards.
- Completes regulatory oversight, reporting and escalation of Custody Operations issues/incidents to other jurisdictions/Legal entities i.e. JPMSE.
- Completes oversight of any CASS/SCGA incidents/breaches reported by any Custody Operations teams. Investigate, report as necessary and drive prompt resolution to adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure clear well-documented communication between internal teams ensuring SOPS and SLAβs are frequently reviewed and updated ensuring consistency.
- Oversee outsourcing requirements for Custody Operations i.e. materiality reviews, exit plans, as well as annual reviews.
- Identify, drive and implement process improvements across Custody Operations ensuring consistency throughout.
- Represent Custody Operations on CASS, SGCA & Outsourcing forums.
- Completes Governance & Oversight of Reconciliation function performed in Bangalore/Manila to ensure compliance with JPM UK regulatory obligation and business service standards.
- Provide client presentations as required on Custody Operations/Reconciliation G&O role and processes.
- Lead for any internal/external audits i.e. PwC.
- Provide effective team communication through regular one-to-ones and team meetings providing information on changes impacting the team this includes but is not limited to market changes, functional moves and procedural/service changes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Successful performance in a risk-based environment with a proven track record of risk reduction.
- Results-based experience demonstrating strategic and analytical thinking.
- Track record of working in a changing environment with the experience of learning, documenting and implementing new processes efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience of multi-tasking and effective time management with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven team management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated presentation skills.
- Experience of communicating both oral and written to management, clients and colleagues.
- Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Financial Services background would be preferred, ideally within a Custody or Investment Bank environment.
- Experience of managing global teams preferably within Custody Operations with experience in Asset Servicing, Trades, Settlements etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office & Project Management skills.
