Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join JPMorgan. This role is a Jobshare (part-time hours shared between two people). If this flexibility suits you, this could be the perfect role.

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform/Data Protection and Recovery organization, you will utilize your strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems at scale, with end-to-end monitoring of applications.
  2. Resolve most nuances and determine appropriate escalation paths.
  3. Execute conventional approaches to build or troubleshoot technical problems.
  4. Support daily activities related to standard capacity process applications.
  5. Partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and oversee remediation.
  6. Consider upstream/downstream data, systems, and technical implications.
  7. Make significant decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
  8. Understand service level indicators and use service level objectives to proactively resolve issues.
  9. Manage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement post-mortem processes to learn and prevent future failures.
  10. Collaborate with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems.
  11. Design scalable systems to handle increased load, including capacity planning and performance optimization.
  12. Implement monitoring and observability practices, including alerts, dashboards, and logging.
  13. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 5+ years as an Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with experience in Data Protection, Storage, Compute, or Network.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment, automation, resilience, and performance assessments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies, capable of operating in and migrating across public and private clouds.
  • Desire to expand infrastructure engineering knowledge across additional domains, data fluency, and automation.
  • This is a 3-day per week position, with occasional flexibility required for project success.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault.
