Job Description

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform/Data Protection and Recovery organization, you will utilize your strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems at scale, with end-to-end monitoring of applications.
- Resolve most nuances and determine appropriate escalation paths.
- Execute conventional approaches to build or troubleshoot technical problems.
- Support daily activities related to standard capacity process applications.
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and oversee remediation.
- Consider upstream/downstream data, systems, and technical implications.
- Make significant decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
- Understand service level indicators and use service level objectives to proactively resolve issues.
- Manage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement post-mortem processes to learn and prevent future failures.
- Collaborate with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems.
- Design scalable systems to handle increased load, including capacity planning and performance optimization.
- Implement monitoring and observability practices, including alerts, dashboards, and logging.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years as an Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with experience in Data Protection, Storage, Compute, or Network.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment, automation, resilience, and performance assessments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies, capable of operating in and migrating across public and private clouds.
- Desire to expand infrastructure engineering knowledge across additional domains, data fluency, and automation.
- This is a 3-day per week position, with occasional flexibility required for project success.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault.
