An established and growing construction contractor is looking to recruit a Commercial Assistant to support its specialist Fire Division from its Paddington office. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator looking to build a long-term career within the construction industry. Working alongside Quantity Surveyors and the Commercial Team, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are well organised, commercially supported and fully compliant.

The business delivers a wide range of refurbishment, maintenance and specialist fire protection projects across London and the South East, with a strong reputation for quality, safety and long-term client relationships.

The Role

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and commercial support to the Quantity Surveying team, helping ensure projects run efficiently from start to finish.
  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial and Quantity Surveying teams.
  • Prepare and issue project documentation.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and filing systems.
  • Process purchase orders and supplier documentation.
  • Assist with subcontractor administration and document management.
  • Update project trackers, cost information and commercial records.
  • Support the preparation of applications, valuations and final accounts.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors regarding documentation.
  • Manage incoming correspondence and ensure project information is accurately recorded.
  • General office administration including document control, filing and data entry.
  • Assist with compiling project handover documentation where required.

About You

  • Previous administration experience is essential.
  • Experience within construction or a commercial environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
  • Professional communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
