Overview of Role: Assist the commercial team in all commercial activities. This would include assisting and taking the lead in estimating, procurement and commercial management of projects. Help the teams to achieve project deliverables and meet the agreed targeted profit margins, maximising the commercial success of the project. Ensure JPD’s best practice policies are adhered to for continuous improvement in financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Estimating
- Accurate and timely project financial management.
- Monitor financial resources on projects ensuring key risks are clearly identified and brought to the attention of the senior management.
- Provide regular Cash flow forecast reports ensuring positive cash flow is achieved where possible.
- Assist in producing monthly Internal Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
- Attend financial meetings as required and contribute where necessary.
- Sub-Contract Procurement
- Assist/take the lead in providing cost reconciliation reports on Sub-Contract tender returns to inform appointments.
- Assist/take lead in compiling Sub-Contract / Sub-Consultant appointments.
- Assist/take lead in producing monthly Sub-Contractors’ payments.
- Assist/take lead in providing accurate measures and take-offs of project packages.
- Detailed tasks:
- Procurement: Take off and produce update package pricing schedules.
- Compile Sub-Contract Tender Packages.
- Sourcing relevant Sub-Contractors.
- Sourcing any materials / supply items and investigate VE options.
- Securing best rates / pricing on materials and orders.
- Prepare Sub-Contract and purchase orders.
- Seamless understanding of estimating software and ensure correct cost coding.
- Commercial Management
- Prepare monthly applications for payment and liaise with the project team to complete and issue to PQS.
- Follow through to agree the valuation, obtain interim certificate, invoicing submission & payment.
- Monitor Sub-Contract Valuations and Manage Accounts.
- Estimating
- Carry out take offs.
- Prepare tender lists and tender packs.
- Analyse returns and pull JPD tender price together.
- Lead the tender internally and coordinate resources to meet all the tender deliverables.

Main Requirements:
- Member of or working towards the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Desired) but not essential.
- Experience in the position: 3 years +.
- Use of software: MS Office, Evalu8 Measurement Software, Eque2 Accounting Software.
