With accountability for all service operations, the role covers a number of key responsibilities in order to develop systems and processes ensuring increased workshop efficiency and profitability. The role retains an amount of hands-on activity, is endlessly varied, and will suit a skilled technical professional not yet ready to completely relinquish the practical stuff, with a strong team and customer-centric approach to their work seeking further career progression.
You are an experienced technical professional, trained to a high standard in agricultural, forestry or construction machinery engineering, with a minimum of 3 years' field service experience. Your background could be from a machinery dealership, distributor or OEM, and you possess a recognised engineering qualification (from HND to degree level). Team leadership experience and good all-round people skills will feature strongly in your career history. You recognise the importance of workflow management, efficiency and productivity, timely repair times and the need to prioritise workload accordingly. You are a solution-based thinker who can enthuse a problem-solving attitude in their team. You have in-depth experience in machinery hydraulic and electrical systems (including CANbus) as well as a range of practical mechanical engineering, repair and refurbishment skills. You have good all-round communication and interpersonal skills, can manage customer expectations and provide a high standard of customer service. You will be familiar with everyday IT applications including online service and warranty systems, MS Office and CRM. Comfortable with occasional travel within the UK and overseas, you will be flexible on nights away from home where required for customer visits and product training. Residing in, or prepared to relocate to North – West England, you must have a clean driving licence – a bonus if you have HGV1 and CPC.
