Overview

In this role, you will strengthen the Private Bank credit risk governance framework by shaping policies, procedures, and committee governance. You will partner with regulators, risk professionals, and senior stakeholders to drive examination readiness and independent challenge across locations. You’ll lead responses to audits and regulatory inquiries, and translate findings into actionable remediation and control enhancements. This position sits at the heart of risk governance and regulatory engagement, enabling responsible growth and robust risk management across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead credit risk governance initiatives and change management efforts
  • Coordinate end-to-end regulatory examinations, audits, and testing for Private Bank Credit Risk
  • Serve as main contact for regulators, auditors, and testing teams, including leading meetings and coordinating inquiries
  • Draft high-quality responses to examination requests aligned to firm policies
  • Assess credit risk controls, document observations, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Drive timely remediation and sustainable control enhancements for findings
  • Strengthen committee and forum governance (materials, agendas, minutes)
  • Maintain transparent tracking, reporting, and escalation of audit and examination matters
  • Build knowledge of end-to-end lending and credit processes with front/middle office, Legal, Compliance, and Risk and Control teams
  • Participate in the firm’s innovation programs

Key requirements

  • Experience in auditing, accounting, internal controls, regulatory strategy, compliance, legal, consulting, and/or credit analysis with a credit risk focus
  • Strong understanding of credit risk concepts and controls; underwriting and/or credit approval experience
  • Familiarity with Wealth Management business model, processes, and operating model; ability to navigate complex methods across products and activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with regulators and senior management while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to shifting priorities, meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels, collaborate across teams, provide credible challenge, and translate complex analysis into actionable, data-driven insights
