Overview
In this Senior Lead Software Engineer role, you will steer a team building an observability capability for cloud-native microservices within the International Consumer Bank. You’ll shape the technical roadmap and deliver scalable telemetry tooling that improves the developer experience across regions. You’ll work closely with product, platform, and engineering squads to drive end-to-end solutions with security and efficiency at the core. This is a chance to impact fintech infrastructure at scale and help build the bank of the future.
Responsibilities
- Influence platform strategy, roadmaps, and reference architectures for cloud-native services across multi-region delivery
- Lead engineers with architectural review, mentorship, and backlog prioritization
- Enhance developer experience with scalable tooling and multi-regional support
- Set instrumentation standards, labeling, and metric cardinality across services
- Ensure security and governance controls for data redaction, encryption, and auditability
- Solve complex problems through design and troubleshooting across the software lifecycle
- Produce architecture/design artifacts ensuring constraints are met
- Analyze large data sets to improve software and system quality
- Identify data patterns to drive improvements in code hygiene and system design
- Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve quality and speed, with peer review and secure coding practices
- Apply lifecycle tooling and automation to increase value of automation
Key requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced experience
- Proven leadership of engineering teams including architectural decision-making and mentoring
- Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience coding in Python and SQL or similar languages in large-scale environments
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of resiliency, security principles, and emerging practices including agentic AI
- Experience with public cloud services (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Hands-on experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness
