This role offers day-to-day exposure to interest rate derivatives and the opportunity to sharpen product knowledge, control mindset, and stakeholder management.

As a Trade Support Associate in Local Markets Rates Trading Middle Office, you provide first-line support to the trading desk by ensuring accurate trade capture, effective lifecycle management, and clear risk and profit and loss reporting.

Job responsibilities:

  • Capture trades accurately in the risk management system and ensure timely completion of required trade details.
  • Verify new transactions against term sheets, sales recap information, and broker confirmations.
  • Monitor lifecycle events and ensure timely processing of key events such as rate fixings and resets.
  • Review confirmation documentation and resolve discrepancies versus internal bookings.
  • Investigate profit and loss and risk questions from the front office and drive issues to closure.
  • Produce daily and ad hoc risk and exposure reports for control and oversight partners.
  • Run scenario analyses and 'what-if' assessments to support trading decisions and risk understanding.
  • Partner with settlements, collateral, finance, and other control groups to ensure smooth downstream processing.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and internal control requirements for reportable trades.
  • Test changes to models, analytics, and booking workflows and document impacts for stakeholders.
  • Improve processes through root-cause analysis, standardization, and automation ideas.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of interest rate derivatives and trade lifecycle concepts (for example, interest rate swaps, forward rate agreements, cross-currency swaps, total return swaps).
  • Apply understanding of market risk concepts and sensitivities used in rates trading (for example, delta, gamma, vega, theta).
  • Explain key drivers of trading profit and loss and reconcile differences with supporting evidence.
  • Execute strong control discipline, including attention to detail and follow-through on exceptions.
  • Communicate clearly with trading, risk, finance, and operations partners in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Solve problems using structured investigation, prioritization, and escalation when needed.
  • Operate effectively in a high-volume environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Use spreadsheet tools to analyze data and produce clear, accurate reporting outputs.
  • Collaborate well within a team environment and contribute to shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and accountability when managing operational, market, and reputational risks.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Support regulatory reporting and control requirements for derivatives (for example, European Market Infrastructure Regulation, Dodd-Frank reporting, clearing obligations).
  • Work with risk management and trade reporting platforms in a middle office or trade support environment.
  • Partner with quantitative and model governance teams to test model upgrades and assess impacts.
  • Build automation or workflow improvements using tools such as Python or data preparation platforms.
  • Contribute to tactical and strategic projects that simplify controls, reduce breaks, or improve timeliness.
  • Demonstrate experience producing management-ready risk and exposure reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Develop broad stakeholder networks and influence across trading and control functions.
