Overview
In this Vice President role within the Financial Crime Global Governance, Policy and Transformation Team, you will drive end-to-end governance and transformation initiatives across sanctions, AML, fraud, and KYC/CDD. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to produce regulator-ready artefacts and enhance screening and control environments. You will shape operational execution, mentor through SME guidance, and contribute to a scalable, AI-enabled financial crime program that supports the bank’s growth and resilience. This is a senior, autonomous delivery role with significant stakeholder engagement and impact.
Responsibilities
- Redefine and maintain the sanctions framework to ensure regulatory compliance and robust alert investigations
- Document clear sanctions guidance and keep it up to date
- Support annual risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and mitigation
- Oversee sanctions list management, ingestion, testing, and implementation into screening engines
- Collaborate with Data and IT to tune screening rules, reducing false positives while preserving coverage
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and 2LOD teams across countries; act as sanctions SME
- Support sanctions-oriented initiatives in policy, governance, screening, and investigations
- Design and implement sustainable process improvements with appropriate controls and oversight
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in financial crime risk, controls, governance, or transformation in regulated financial institutions or related roles
- Strong knowledge of sanctions risk management and screening concepts; exposure to AML, fraud, and KYC/CDD
- Proven track record delivering complex end-to-end transformation initiatives (control, process, data, or technology)
- Ability to translate risk and control intent into actionable specifications (requirements, model governance, acceptance criteria)
- Experience leading current-state assessments and developing target-state proposals with prioritized plans
- Familiarity with analytics, AI/ML, and automation in financial crime; governance expectations and performance metrics
- Strong MI skills: KRIs/KPIs, dashboards, and measurable benefit tracking
- Experience supporting audit/regulatory activities: evidence, remediation tracking
- Strong documentation and traceability for auditability and explainability
- Executive communication skills and ability to produce decision-ready materials
