Overview
As an Executive Director Control Manager at JPMorgan Chase, you partner with the business to proactively manage operational risk through robust controls and innovative solutions. You lead a team to assess risks, design sustainable controls, and drive governance across global programs like CORE. You will leverage data and AI/LLM capabilities to anticipate trends and strengthen the risk and control environment. This role offers cross-functional collaboration, ownership of critical risk initiatives, and visible impact on business processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on innovation and operational excellence
- Oversee global CORE programs and drive effective risk forums with clear agendas and materials
- Engage with stakeholders to identify and assess risks across the business
- Identify control gaps and drive remediation actions
- Design sustainable controls to mitigate operational risks
- Develop data-driven governance and monitoring strategies
- Apply analytics and AI/LLM capabilities to anticipate risk trends and deliver solutions
- Guide the business through regulatory reviews, audits, and issue escalation
Key requirements
- Significant experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, or operational risk management
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing change management for complex initiatives and training others
- Ability to build trusted partnerships across business, operations, technology, audit, and compliance
- Demonstrated leadership with multiple programs running concurrently
- Strong communication skills tailored to different audiences and evidence-based challenging of assumptions
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to bring structure to ambiguity and synthesize data
