JP Medicals Recruitment is currently recruiting a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for a flexible locum position in Manchester. Excellent rates to be discussed upon registration.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Helping patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Assisting with mobility and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
- Supporting feeding and hydration needs, including special dietary requirements.
- Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
- Observing patients’ condition, mood, and behaviour and reporting changes.
- Assisting in infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Preparing medical equipment and assisting with simple procedures.
- Restocking medical supplies and ensuring cleanliness in patient areas.
- Escorting patients to appointments, tests, and therapy sessions.
- Offering companionship and reassurance to patients.
- Supporting patients with mental health conditions or dementia.
- Assisting families by explaining basic care routines.
- Encouraging patients with mobility assistance.
- Engaging patients in social and recreational activities.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
- Minimum 6 months of NHS or private hospital experience.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Valid visa to work in the UK.
