Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Helping patients with bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Assisting with mobility and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
  • Supporting feeding and hydration needs, including special dietary requirements.
  • Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
  • Observing patients’ condition, mood, and behaviour and reporting changes.
  • Assisting in infection control and hygiene protocols.
  • Preparing medical equipment and assisting with simple procedures.
  • Restocking medical supplies and ensuring cleanliness in patient areas.
  • Escorting patients to appointments, tests, and therapy sessions.
  • Offering companionship and reassurance to patients.
  • Supporting patients with mental health conditions or dementia.
  • Assisting families by explaining basic care routines.
  • Encouraging patients with mobility assistance.
  • Engaging patients in social and recreational activities.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care
  • Minimum 6 months of NHS or private hospital experience
  • Full UK driving Licence is essential
  • Valid Visa to work in the UK
