JP Medicals Recruitment, a leading NHS and Private healthcare recruitment agency, is currently recruiting a dedicated Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (Nurse/ODP) with NMC or HCPC registration to work in regular and flexible shifts at The Ridgeway Hospital, Swindon.
Job Description:
- Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
- Deliver safe quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.
- Support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department.
- Assist in the delivery of patient care.
- Contribute to quality improvement.
- Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
- Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice.
- Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
- Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.
- Achieve agreed objectives and demonstrate CHG behaviours at all times.
Requirements:
- An active NMC or HCPC registration.
- Valid DBS on Update Service or we apply DBS for the suitable candidate.
- Proven experience in Major Orthopaedic Scrub, particularly in Lower Limb surgeries (Hips + Knees).
- Familiarity with a variety of surgical procedures and techniques.
- Ability to adapt to different shift patterns.
