Our client is a purpose-led, technology-enabled environmental consultancy, delivering trusted advice and risk management solutions across construction, infrastructure, energy, and more. They support clients to develop responsibly by understanding and mitigating environmental risks. The Geo-Environmental Division provides site investigation services, land quality assessments, and technical guidance to help reduce uncertainty and support informed decision-making. We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical or Geo-Environmental Consultant to join the Bristol team. This is a key role for someone with around 4+ years of consultancy experience, who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, reporting, and project management responsibilities. You will contribute to the delivery of a wide range of contaminated land and ground risk projects and play an important role in mentoring more junior colleagues as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver site investigations and environmental monitoring
- Lead field-based elements of Phase 1, 2 and 3 assessments
- Prepare and review high-quality factual and interpretive reports
- Assess laboratory data and develop conceptual site models
- Support project management activities including budgets, schedules, and client communication
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and subconsultants as needed
- Assist with proposal writing and fee estimations
- Maintain high standards of health and safety
- Support the development of junior team members through on-the-job learning
Qualifications
- A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related discipline
- Around 4+ years' experience in geo-environmental consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge of contaminated land risk assessment and UK guidance (e.g. CLR11, LCRM)
- Confident in scoping, managing, and delivering Phase 2 site investigations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively and independently, contributing to team culture
- Some experience in project coordination or management
- Full UK driving licence
