An established and award-winning civil and structural engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Newcastle.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the technical delivery of civil engineering projects, from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction.
  • Lead day-to-day delivery of civil engineering consultancy services with a strong focus on highways and drainage design, including SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments and earthworks.
  • Produce drawings, calculations, reports and site appraisals, ensuring work is delivered to programme, budget and in line with relevant UK standards and guidance.
  • Work closely with engineers of varying levels, providing technical support and mentoring where required.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and statutory bodies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering with a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience within a UK civil engineering consultancy.
  • Solid experience delivering highways and drainage designs and a good working knowledge of UK planning procedures and design standards such as Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, DMRB and local authority guidance.
  • Experience using software such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/Flow, Civil 3D, PDS or Causeway Live.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with residential developers is highly desirable.

Benefits & Salary

  • Salary up to £48,000, depending on experience, with flexible working hours and a 35-hour working week with an early finish every Friday.
