Put your surveying experience to work on exciting construction projects across the Inverness area. We’re recruiting an experienced Land Surveyor / Setting Out Engineer to join a busy project team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring construction works are accurately positioned, levelled and delivered in line with drawings and specifications. If you’re technically strong, comfortable on site and know your way around a Total Station and GPS, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
Your responsibilities
- Carrying out setting out for foundations, drainage, structures, roads and earthworks
- Conducting site surveys and checking levels, coordinates and dimensions
- Operating Total Station, GPS and other modern survey equipment
- Establishing and checking site control
- Working from construction and engineering drawings
- Producing as-built surveys and accurate site records
- Providing surveying support to Site Managers and Engineers
- Identifying and resolving setting-out or dimensional issues
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and site safety
You'll ideally have
- Demonstrable experience in land surveying and construction setting out
- Experience within civil engineering or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and site procedures
- Practical experience with GPS and Total Station equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive approach with good communication skills
- Relevant surveying or engineering qualifications would be an advantage
- Full UK driving licence preferred
