Great opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join a well-respected ambitious consultancy to assist in the delivery of their growing portfolio of structural engineering projects throughout the UK and client base. The post will offer the successful applicant an interesting, challenging and varied workload in a fast-paced environment, as well as allowing them to develop personally and professionally, as an engineer.
As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you will be involved in diverse projects and will help to deliver innovative design solutions across a broad range of clients. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, trustworthy and practically-minded individual able to work effectively within a team as well as independently. As core principles of the business, a willingness to forge strong client relationships and communicate effectively in the team is essential to the company’s success.
Main purpose of position:
- Undertake design of Structural Engineering elements using a variety of materials
- Provide technical assistance to the members of the structural engineering team
- Support in the production of structural calculations, structural appraisals, foundation schedules and survey reports
- Directly contribute to the successful delivery of structural engineering projects from being a part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 2.1 degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, ideally working towards chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), both supported by Ecotech Engineers
- Excellent understanding and application of design standards and principles, including British Standards, Eurocodes and Building Regulations
- Appreciation of geotechnical principles and understanding of foundation design
- Basic skills in AutoCAD 2D
- Interest or basic skills in Revit
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel) and appreciation for structural engineering design software
- A willingness for learning and self-development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence to represent the company on site visits
- Full, clean UK driving license
