We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to become part of an established team of expert engineers and technicians working in Newcastle The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects with a particular interest in road and infrastructure design. Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines to deliver and oversee the preparation of detailed designs and detailing including highway and drainage, levels and earthworks, external works, and associated civil engineering infrastructure. Develop 3D drawings and designs and implement 3D co-ordination into their current design practices. What you will do The role of the Graduate Engineer role will involve: * Working on a range of projects including Housing, Commercial, Residential and Extra Care developments * Feasibility studies and resolving planning conditions, including drainage and highway considerations * Supporting the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments * Producing detailed drawings and calculations for technical approvals including adoptable highways and drainage schemes to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104 standards * Assisting in the preparation of 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill analysis, and vertical road profiles * Liaising with clients and external agencies including the Environment Agency, local highways authorities, and water authorities What you will have The ideal Graduate Engineer should have following competencies: – * Hold a BEng, MEng or MSc level degree in civil engineering, or in your final year studying toward this qualification. * Good communication skills. * Enthusiastic and ambitious to learn and progress your career. * A problem solver, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
